VOCATION & CALLING

It is not merely enough to find a profession; for an activity to occupy the majority of one's waking hours, it should speak to something essential in one's character. Whether that quality is the unraveling of problems, the exercise of the imagination, or the espousal of ethical principles, a motivation beyond routine paychecks lays the groundwork for a sustaining work life.

My own professional and volunteer experiences, when viewed in full, reflect certain common themes: a concern for ethical behavior; a focus on the creation of lasting institutions that help an organization achieve its goals; and a deep focus on interdependency, whether of structures, of teams, or of people. In each of my myriad paths, these have been the recurring threads.

I've pursued these themes using a broad range of skillsets, leveraging a background in public speaking, a deep understanding of policy and parliamentary procedure, and a native comfort with a diverse array of technologies towards their advancement. In a world of ever-increasing specialization, I believe that those capable of bridging the gaps and finding common languages for the problems before us have an ever-more-crucial role to play.
