The Life Well-Lived

I initially encountered the ancient Greek concept of Eudaimonia (εὐδαιμονία) in the first few weeks of a course on early political thought. While frequently translated simply as "happiness" or "well-being", it has a deeper connotation as "human flourishing", the idea that true happiness consists of leading a life that engages one's faculties and allows one to become an expression of their authentic, best self. Suffice it to say that this concept, a recurring concern in philosophy, became a central concept in the manner in which I strive to live my own life.

Many, many threads, both my own and those of others, intersect in the tapestry of my life; my hope is to understand and celebrate those intersections to the best of my ability, and to learn and grow from each of them.
